My ideal job!

I'd be lying if I say that this theme never crossed my mind, my ideal job, what would be my ideal job?. Well, obviously it has to be something related with animal (other way I wouldn't be studing Veterinary), but there is a lot of jobs related with animal, so what other things atracttd me?. Suddenly I started to imagine myself travel around the world and I realize that if I could mix up animal and   travel I would be very, very happy.


Based on the previous, I think that the best job for me would be, in the best of cases, work for a company or a magazine  that pays me for studing behavior of wild animal, in any part of the planet!, because that would give me the oportunity to work and relate with differents kind of people, animal and environments, also I would be researching about wild animal, something that likes me (and I think that there is a lot of things that we don't know about them yet)


Another point that makes this ideal job be so ideal for me it's the fact that I would have to deal with  no so many people in my work, a little group or being alone would be fine for me, also you dont't have to talk to much with you boss (I mean imagine if you are in the Amazon, how you can comunicate with your boss?)


God, just thinking about it makes me happy, although, maybe the hours of work could be a little expansive. Never mind!, who can control you?. Oh, yeah!, defenitely I would enjoy it.

My favorite subject

If someone ask me, what it's your favorite subject in this career so far?, I would definitely answer Animal Diversity, because it is the only class that talks about animals, and I know that the other ones like chemestry and math are very important for this career , but I kind feel that those subjects are a little far away to be applied by now. 

Animal Diversity it's different, it makes me feel like I am really studing veterinarian and no other scientific career, also it's the only subject (bysides of chemistry) in which we can explore and experiment the things we do on classroom. 

I think we don't have enough classes of this, we have two in the week, one on Tuesday in the classroom, where we study all different class of animal, their evolution and characteristics, all this classes has a different teacher that it's an expert in a field of zoology. The other class is in the laboratory on Friday, where we exam the animal, open them up and exploring their internal organs. At first the only thing that we have got to carry on to the class was our lab coat, but when we started to work with more evolved animal, we have to use other gadgets such as surgical gloves and scalpels.

Finally, to summary ​​it all, there are two simple things that I like about Animal Diversity: the first one is to study animals (which is why I am in this career) and the second one is the fact that I can actually touch one, well at least other than it's not a pet.

 

As you can see this it's me very happy in Laboratory of Animal Diversity

The person that I admire

When I decided to study this career I didn't know how many options I have to choose. Actually it wasn't until I was 12 years old that I realized what fields of veterinarian I like the most: wild animals and behavior. I can mix both things and got something really facinated to me, but for the middle time, it is a little far way of  being do it. So for practice I started to watch my dogs and they behavior, also at the same time I watch the realationship that my family have with them and I realized that some thing went wrong, I mean sometimes we treat them as a person and I thing that do that it's not such a good thing, it was enough to see how we get bites from our dogs when we want to do anything that they dosen't want to, like take them for a ride. It was a bad situation, because the only thing that we wanted was to make them happy and be happy, we also. 


In that time I started to research how to fix the problem, from phsycology point of view, not many things help us. Then one day I found a program on tv of a guy that resolved dogs problem in a way that I'd never see before, he literaly get into their mind and cure bad behiavor of dogs and chancethe mind of their owners, suddendly I found the answer that I was looking for, his tecnices was everything that I'd dream on, because he mixed up the natural conduct of the animal and the love that human want to give them. So I prove some of his tecnices and they worked out, which make belive in this guy. The name of that program was "The Dog Whisperer", and it host Cesar Millan, became in my idol since then.


He was born on Agust 27, 1969, in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico. Son of  Felipe Millan a photographer and Maria Teresa Favela a seamstress. Since he was a little boy, he favorite thing was to go to the ranch of his grandfather, sit and watch the wild dogs that roamed the property. That thing makes him decide become a Hollywood animal trainer.When he groow up, he entered illegally to U.S, where he got differents jobs such as dog-gromming and auto-detailing busisness. With the first job he got the chance to know the problems of american dogs and owners. After a while he move on from San Diego to Los Angeles and opened there in the south-central area his Dog Psychology Center in 1998. With the time and his tecnices he became famous and in 2004  debuted in National Geographic Channel with the program "The Dog Whisperer", that sooner became into a national hit, that last until today.


Personally I think he's a great person,don't you think?

Why Veterinarian?

People often say that choose a career is a very important decision, full of meaning and responsability, that you gotta make that decision with maturity and wisdom, because it's a thing that you gonna do for a lifetime.

I'm a agree in some point, but my decision were very simple, I remember that I determinated my career when I was a little child, of only six years old (well my mather says that I make it at seven, but, who knows?, memory it's a wear thing), and actually at that age I'd like dinosaurs, really!, I don't know why, but there's something about them that then and now fascinated me.

Any way, how I like them so much I started to research about the jobs relacionated with dinosours and in that way I realize that everything I'll do would be see rocks. I mean I don't have anything against paleontologists, really but, I didn't want to spend the rest of my life working with fossils, so I wonder to myself, what are the dinosaurs?, and I realize that I colud work with animal, wich was great because in that moment and in the same time I started to get interested in wolf (which is my favorite animal, by the way) and see Animal Planet, those two things  push me into this career. So I decided become  a veterinarian, a good one, devote to study animal behavior to help people to understand then and proves also that animal are intelligent (so many people don't think that).  Then and now I take the determination that nothing would take me apart of big dream.

It was then that over time  I learned more and more about the profession and I really love it, I mean there's so many things that a veterinarian can do, from sugery to public health, and so many thing to learn, that this career turns really facinated to me.

Ok, I was young and I'd determine my career, but there's other thing that people say it's important to decide: University. Yes it's true a good University makes a good impression, a least in our country, so I chose one of the most prestigious universities of Chile: Universidad de Chile. And I don't regret it, at all.

Finally now, some years after of my childhood, I'm here writing this, while I hope become an excellent veterinarian and also I'm giving thanks to dinosours that makes me, in one way or another, know this profession.

Introducing me

Hi everyone!, my name is Valentina, I am 18 years old and I live in  High Bridge.
I have to say that this is not the first time that I have a blog, but the last time it wasn't work, so I hope now this thing be different.
Well, what I can tell about myself bysides the regular things?. Actually a lot, I like to write (and I hope being good some day on that), the sports (specially wich are related with art marcial), and I hope some day could travel around the world.
I also have three pets, one female dog (Candela), one male dog (Goofy) and one female cat (Saya), the  last two of they have an incredible energy (seriously I don't know how to get low their batteries). My pets and other things of my childhood, made me realize in a very young age that I love the Medical Veterinary Career, so that's why I'm study this.
Ok, a last thing that I would like to say, before finish this post, I personally hope this hole thing of a blog in english, bring me a little help with the writte comunication and also with the read, because I would like to read more easily books in english and in a not so distance time, traslated.
